FronteraFest 2012

frontera fest austinPop question: Which annual festival, locally-known as “The fringe theater event of the Southwest”, features over 800 local and national artists, includes nudity, hip-hop, improv, slam poetry, monologists, stage combat, absurdist comedy, and just about everything else under the theatrical sun?

That would be Austin’s Fronterafest. “FronteraFest is five weeks of alternative, offbeat, new, and just plain off-the-wall fringe theatre,” explains producer Christi Moore.  The hallmark of the festival is the creative freedom it offers its participants, an anything goes approach.  “As long as it’s legal,” says Moore, “it’s a go.”
