Summer in Rollingwood

Summer is in full swing in Rollingwood, Texas, and here are a few notifications for area residents.

National Night Out

Grab your neighbors and head outdoors! National Night Out in Rollingwood will be held Tuesday, August7, 2018 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. A main event will be held in Rollingwood Upper Park, and everyone is invited. Rollingwood residents, look in the mail: a flyer will arrive with more information on National Night Out. Or, call the non-emergency police number at 512-328-1900.

Tree Trimming Time

Oak trees now can be trimmed! From July 1 to January 31, oak trees may be trimmed. The reduced time frame was enacted to prevent oak wilt spread among the trees of the region. The Oak Wilt Ordinance 2016-03-16(A) provides more information, or residents may contact City Staff with questions at 512-327-1838.

Rollingwood Election

The candidate filing period for the City special election is underway, with first days to apply approaching in July and deadlines to apply approaching in August. The general election will be held Tuesday, November 6, 2018. Open positions include alderperson positions, including one with a term expiring in November 2019 and one with a two-year term ending in November 2020, and also a position for mayor, with a two-year term ending in November 2020. Application packets for candidates are available at the City Hall. Contact the Office of the City Secretary at 512-327-1838 for more information.
